One of the problems with what you want to do is fleing of the mount Also, lights up high reflect back more on any dust, fog, rain, snow ect But, look at current wrc stuff, they just run a tubular light holder, mounted up on the front of the hood area
I realize one downside is ground clearance, but beetles don't have that much clearance either. I was finally able to reassemble my gearbox mount When i took out the gearbox, i found that the original mounting bracket was bent and the rubber around the connector was worn out.
