Telehealth was introduced as a temporary measure but is being considered as a more permanent form of healthcare, particularly in rural areas, to provide more equitable healthcare. Our results indicated that adults living in large central metropolitan areas utilized telemedicine approximately twice as often as adults living in rural areas, and telemedicine utilization has decreased significantly as urbanization levels have decreased. This innovative approach to health care delivery is instrumental in enhancing the quality of rural health care and addressing challenges faced by rural residents, such as limited access to specialty care and transportation difficulties. These disparities include restricted access, transportation challenges, and healthcare workforce shortages, resulting in delayed care and poorer health outcomes This research aims to investigate the use of telemedicine in rural areas of the united kingdom to improve access to healthcare facilities.
