Terms in this set (9) identify mobility principles and hazards to clients from immobility across the life span. Likewise, mobility and a threshold level of exercise are essential across the lifespan from birth to old age to optimize growth and maturation early, and then to avoid deconditioning with advancing age. This chapter will discuss nursing assessments and interventions related to promoting mobility. The statistically significant factors of older adults' mobility include age (as a demographic factor), availability of a car (as a lifestyle factor), use of smart devices (as a technological factor), and perceived health.
