While micd staff plans and manages national sessions around the country, we also partner with universities and nonprofits to host special sessions geared toward specific types of cities or project themes. Micd alumni advising helps alumni mayors continue addressing the complex challenges facing today’s cities, beyond the traditional micd institute session model.
Mayors bring a variety of opportunities regarding parks and public spaces to micd, from reconnecting a lost riverfront, to giving city hall a new “front porch”, to using parks to stitch back together disconnected neighborhoods. Micd holds several institute sessions throughout the country each year Over 1,200 mayors from across the country have participated in micd sessions, finding solutions to their cities’ most critical planning and design challenges.
