Sunny discovering, and experimenting and finding ways of using his abilities, is one of the best thing on the novel
Omori is a story about learning to forgive, whether it be forgiving other people (forgiving basil for his part, forgiving aubrey for her actions, etc.), or forgiving yourself, which is what sunny does when he overcomes omori.
