I have personally referred many families to nami chapters in the bay area in order to help them deal with the life changing events when a loved one suffers their first break. Nami syracuse hosts monthly support groups for individuals living with mental illness, as well as family members and friends of those living with mental health concerns All support groups are free, and you do not have to be a nami member to attend. Nami homefront is a class for families, caregivers and friends of military service members and veterans with mental health conditions The course is designed specifically to help these families understand those challenges and improve their ability to support their service member or veteran.
