For this study, samples were obtained from well s505 in wyoming, with cores stored at the united states geological survey (usgs), at a depth of approximately 3250 meters. This study investigated the efect of fracturing fluid treatment on the mechanical and elastic properties of the mowry shale formation, wyoming, usa. Special attention was given to the geomechanical properties with some laboratory characterization report been discussed Additionally, fluid transport behavior in shale was investigated. The results will enhance the understanding of the mechanical behavior and properties of mowry shale, which are crucial for oil production in unconventional reservoirs. Although mowry shale has been recognized as an important source rock for oil and gas production, the geomechanical behaviors of mowry shale have yet been investigated and understood.
Samples were analyzed from three thermally immature drill cores collected from the wind river basin, wyoming to advance our understanding of the conditions that led to the formation of the mowry shale.
