In this video we explain everything we know about the smoker oil tanker in waterworld, known as the deez (dez), from how the ship was brought to life through. It was based on rader's original 1986 screenplay and stars kevin costner, who also produced it with charles gordon and john davis. The real exxon valdez, which served as the basis for waterworld's smoking tanker, met its grim fate in 2012 and was subsequently scrapped Consequently, the ship featured in the film could not be the same one that survived the water apocalypse of the movie.
