The fappening, a portmanteau of the words happening and fap, refers to a nude photograph leak featuring various high profile celebrities that were posted on 4chan in late august 2014. The actress responded to her nude images being leaked online by tweeted sarcastically Thank you icloud, along with two emoticons of a slice of pizza and a poo. The leaked photos were allegedly obtained via a massive hack of apple's icloud They were then posted on 4chan by users offering more explicit material in exchange for bitcoin payments. Exactly a year after the sentencing of hacker ryan collins, photos of emma watson and amanda seyfried were leaked onto 4chan, reddit, and a website called celeb jihad.
