Those are my current goto flatwounds for a classic flatwound sound regardless of scale length

I'd also recommend ghs pressurewounds They sound pretty much broken in right out of the box and have plenty of fundamental plus a whole lot more without sounding bright or new at all. My reason for wanting to replace the strings is to make the sound fuller and a little less twangy, especially on the upper end. I recently purchased one of the new squier mini precision basses for travel and was wondering if anyone knows which short scale flats would fit the bass It's a 28.6 inch bass, so i'm assuming most of the 32 inch scale strings will be too long Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I love the rotosound rs88 nylon tape wounds on my modulus vj, so i sucked it up and ordered a set of those in short scale I'll report in when they arrive, my only real concern is the girth of the e string (115) on a short scale bass. I'm looking for the best extra/ultra light flatwound. Since it hasn't been said, yet, i'll say the obvious Pyramid gold flat wound short scale bass strings are the strings that german hofner basses are fitted with. I’ve been using rotosound round wound strings la66 for many years

But i really want to try some flat wounds in the same gauge

Higher gauges are uncomfortable for me A bit cheaper but it is very light tension, isn't it From what i have read, i expect d' addario to be more bright that labellas and close to the fenders i have in jazz bass? Flatwounds or tapewounds or coated, etc.)
